This morning on the Facebook page the following quote was posted...
"Getting a Bible in our churches is like getting a kilogram of gold." -pastor in Nepal who received Bibles to distribute through our Bibles Unbound program.
If you're like me, this probably convicts you and makes you compelled to read your bible. I know when I read statements like this, my first thought is when was the last time I read my bible and the second thought is that I am so blessed to have more copies of the Holy Bible than I will ever need, while many of my brothers and sisters don't even own one copy! It truly compels me to pray and to remain thankful for the blessing of the scriptures I own.
However, it also reminds me to be faithful in my giving to the Voice of the Martyrs Bibles Unbound program. We have shared this great program with you a number of times, but let me share it with you again.
As one astute Facebook commenter said this morning...
It's amazing that there are around 20,000 bible sent out each month by VOM, yet the number of people waiting stays over 50,000. Praise God that so many are thirsty for truth.
Great observation and we see that right now, as of the time of this writing, the Bibles Unbound website lists 1, 633,735 bibles that have already been sent and 63, 840 individuals still waiting for a bible.
So I would like to ask you to put your faith in Jesus in action. Consider the joy your brother or sister in Christ is going to receive when they receive their very own copy of God's word.
Consider that this bible will no doubt touch more lives than the one person it will be mailed to.
Consider how affordable it is to bring the living words of eternal life to someone who is thirsty for that living water.
