It wasn't very many days ago that Stacy posted about a Christian in Bhutan imprisoned for showing a film on Christ.
Today, I've come across a similar incident where the government has given a big fine to a believer for having various films about Jesus Christ. This comes to us from our friends at Forum18 in this report: UZBEKISTAN: Massive fine for having a film of Jesus' life.
Uzbekistan has imposed a massive fine on a Protestant for owning a Christian film, Forum 18 News Service has learned. Murat Jalalov was fined - apparently on the instructions of the NSS secret police – after police raided his home. The film and other confiscated materials for analysis by the state Religious Affairs Committee, which said that the film "could be used among local ethnicities for missionary purposes" and was therefore banned.
Living a life for Christ in Uzbekistan has quite the risk. I've read in other articles that the secret police have become quite bold in sending spies into church services and over time they have begun to seek to intimidate with their presence.
We need to hold our brothers and sisters in oppressive countries up before Christ and pray for their strength and light in Christ.
