Our good friends at China Aid are carrying a story from Radio Free Asia about the recent attacks on Christians who were arrested, beaten and then released for their testimony for Christ. Just as we have read in the Scriptures, Christians were imprisoned then and beaten. You may recall these passages from the bible.
The prophet Jeremiah was beaten for speaking out...see Jeremiah 20:2, "...he had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put in the stocks at the Upper Gate of Benjamin at the LORD's temple."
In Acts 16:22 - Paul and Silas were stripped and beaten by the crowds.
And Paul reiterates again that he was beaten and stoned in 2 Corinthians 11:25, and yet he endured, as our brothers and sisters in China are enduring.
