One of our mission representatives recently shared a powerful story with the office staff at The Voice of the Martyrs.
This mission representative’s wife took a trip to Colorado and Wyoming to visit family. Since the couple is from Indiana, the trip meant many miles on the road. While she was traveling, our mission representative heard about a wreck on the news. A semi had smashed a passenger car, killing the person inside. After he heard about this wreck, he breathed a quick prayer. He asked, “Lord, please protect my wife.”
Not long afterwards, his wife called home. She told him that she had been in a wreck; a semi had totaled their car in a hit-and-run accident. Miraculously, she remained unharmed. Our representative remembered his prayer and thanked God for answering his request.
This example serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of prayer. Our coworker offered a simple prayer up for his wife, and the Lord covered her with His protection. Likewise, God hears each of those small prayers offered for persecuted Christians, and He is faithful to answer them. That is why your persecuted brothers and sisters covet your prayers.
Please continue to faithfully pray for persecuted Christians. When something reminds you of a persecuted Christian, pray. When someone comes to mind, pray. Every time you check this blog, pray for the persecuted church. Someday, in heaven, you’ll learn just how much impact your prayers made.
