One of the high points of each VOM conference is the afternoon panel discussion, a chance for questions to some of our guests from around the world. Here are some highlight quotes from this afternoon's panel discussion.
"Courage starts out with faith. What I've found is that when we get into situations where we normally wouldn't have courage, if God sent us into that situation then He comes on our heart and gives us the courage to do what He wants to have done. God can give us the authority to go and to represent Him in the way He wants to be represented."
"Jesus obeyed his Father, even though it meant he had to lay down his physical life."
"When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you are brave and you can do anything for Him."
"Through the power of the Holy Spirit and the anointing He gives, we have courage."
"I only have one life. Let this one life be useful for Christ. When I remembered that, the fear passed."
"God's love casts out fear."
"One Vietnamese pastor told us, "I've found a great way to get over the fear of going to jail. Go to jail.'"
"I usually fear before the situation and after the situation. But in the middle of the situation I feel no fear. It has to do with where are my eyes. The Lord promised that in the situation He will give us the answers in the time when we need them."
"Vietnamese Christians are able to say to the police with great honesty when they are interrogated, 'We pray for you.'"
"We have the right to pray for government officials, so that God challenges them in the way they behave. We can bring about changes through the power of prayer and fasting."
"Why is the church in a nation like Iran growing? Because each person in the church is responsible to bring one person to Christ. In this way we have been able to grow the church, in spite of what the government does to stop the church."
Thanks for all these postings from the conference. Those of us who decided not to go can at least get a glimpse!
