If you're like me and continually follow the news of the persecuted church then you can't miss the mention of Eritrea all over the news. A few stories today caught my eye and unfortunately I'm very saddened by all of it. The headlines will speak for themselves, and so I will just post the links so you can read them.

The Faith Community in Eritrea: Its Need for Mobilization for Change
Heartbreaking news isn't it? Well, you can learn more about how to help Eritrea by contacting Voice of the Martyrs and also by visiting a website called Release Eritrea!
And never forget to pray and also sign up for our news magazine that you can receive free from Voice of the Martyrs.
Lets not forget that religion is a cultural force. In Eritrea we are blessed with Islam and Christianity. These relgions are now a part of the fabric of society. But these are our christians, outside forces, from adherents to extreme Islam to divisive Chrisitan groups have tried to divide the nation along religious lines.
Furthermore political support from industrialized nations tries to reverse the progress we have made. As an Eritrean Christian I am irritated by the commentaries of foreigners, who know nothing of our state and our Christianity. In fact our only wish is that you leave us alone....
Or you will face the same fate as USAID, if you continue to involve yourself in our domestic issues, we will be forced to remove you.
Thank you and may God/Allah be with you.
