I had to write about this latest attack from the Freedom from Religion Foundation concerning the iconic cross on Mount Rubidoux. Why - because I have lived in Southern California my whole life, and I have visited this particular cross numerous times in my life, since I was raised in nearby Riverside, California.
The Freedom from Religion Foundation has made a career of attacking the freedom of speech of Americans and in particular has focused on crosses that have been erected to honor fallen vets and others.
Since I am now moving to Tennessee, I won't be able to go and stand with my fellow believers and people who love the cross on Mount Rubidoux, but I can tell you that I'm sure this is not the end of the iconic cross. The Mount Rubidoux cross has been an icon for over 100 years in the Southern California area, and thousands of people go and visit the cross during the Easter season, as well as through out the year because it's a nice comforting hike or drive to the cross.
Here's the CBN News story concerning the cross:
As for me, I'm glad my mother didn't live to see this day. She would've been heartbroken.
