If You Lost Your Bible Would It Change Your Life?

This morning as I was reading through my email the following quote was in my email.
“In prison, the most difficult thing was to live without a Bible.”
This really hit me because of all the things that a person has to deal with living in prison, this prisoner's most difficult thing was not having a Bible. It wasn't the dang and dark conditions in the prison. It wasn't the food. It wasn't the guards. It wasn't the clothing the prisoner had to wear. It wasn't even the bathroom faciilities - it was not having a Bible to read.
I wonder if this is the same for you and me, especially as people who live in America where we can get a bible pretty much anywhere. There are bibles in hospitals, churches, medical facilities of all kinds, and yes, even in prison.
So, my question today is if you lost your bible - would it change your life? Leave your comments below. Remember all comments are moderated first.

A couple years ago my purse was stolen out of my car. In it was my Bible. I was devastated. I only use one Bible, I write many things in it, almost like a second journal! I had that Bible when I had the opportunity to go to Israel, and so many things. I am fortunate to be able to get a new Bible, but to this day, I miss that Bible and pray that whoever has it now, has found truth themselves.

If I lost my Bible I would probably get really depressed and turn into a horrible mom. I stay at home with my 3 kids 3 years old and under and it's a day to day battle. I NEED to read the Word; it's the only thing that keeps me sane and gives me the strength to love my kids and truly see them as the blessings they are. I'm so thankful for my Bible!

I know what this person means on not having a Bible. I accidentaly lost mine for two weeks and those two weeks I felt less happy and that I was slowly losing sight in God. I can't imagine what that would be like in prison. That just shows though that God's word is alive and well in our spirits

My favorite way to read the Bible is through a computer program called "e-sword." I recently got a new computer which did not have e-sword installed on it. I felt lost without it! I was thankful that all I had to do was pop in a disc and install it on my new computer. Even if I didn't have e-sword, I'd still have several other Bibles to read from. We are so fortunate to live in a country where we are able to freely read God's Word and get copies of it almost anywhere. I really feel for Christians in other countries who don't have this privilege that we so often take for granted.
